I seem to be having a problem with SMTP Mail protection all of a sudden

If i keep it enabled, exim cannot deliver mail to any external hosts; they all get an error of "retry time not reached for any host"

But if i turn off the SMTP protection, it works fine

Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Thanks!
