We have currently enabled SMTP restriction on our servers, preventing users from sending mails using remote SMTP. I would however like to know if it is possible to allow certain SMTP servers such as GMail even when this is enabled

    Hello :)

    Per this option's description:

Enabling this feature will redirect outgoing SMTP connections to the local mail server. root, exim, and mailman are still allowed to make direct connections.

This option does not prevent authenticated email accounts from sending to remote mail servers such as Google, if that's what you mean.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for your response. Here is what I mean. SMTP restriction basically prevents a user on the server from using remote SMTP settings to send mails on the server to reduce spamming. This means that all remote SMTP connections are blocked. I would like to know if it is possible to allow certain remote SMTP connections while blocking all others

You could disable the "SMTP Restrictions" and add your own custom firewall rules. The SMTP_BLOCK option with CSF might be a good alternative with the possibility of modifying it to allow connections to specific remote servers.

    Thank you.
