Some accounts have lost the ability to send email.

    Some accounts on one of our servers have lost the ability to send email, even after transferring them to a new cPanel server.

    What can I check to clear this situation?

    What settings are they using to send out mail?

    What ISP are the users connecting from?

    It is becoming very common for ISPs to block access to remote SMTP servers.

    So if your client is using one of these ISPs and they are trying to send out mail through your server on the regular SMTP port 25, then that is very likely your problem.

    Your clients might try using secure SMTP on your server. Or you can enable exim to run on another port, such as port 587.

    Alternatively, there is nothing wrong with using the ISP's outgoing mail server to send out mail. Mail can still be sent out using an e-mail address, it is just routed through the user's ISP mail server.
