Some users can't create mail accounts.

I've got an account that can't create mail accounts. I've tried in cpanel and with /scripts/addpop. The folders and inbox files are getting created in /home/username and permissions appear to be correct.

Other accounts can create new mail accounts without a problem.

WHM 9.4.0 cPanel 9.4.1-R55
RedHat 9 - WHM X v3.1.0

any pointers on troubleshooting this? Has anyone else seen this kind of behavior?

couple of things to check, they haven't exceeded their alloted disc quota, and when the account was created, they have the ability to create POP accounts.

I fixed it.

The account was well under its disk space limits but had nearly 500 MB of spam in the default mail account. Removing this fixed the problem.
