A client of mine uses Soholaunch which he installed through Fantastico some time ago. About 3 weeks ago, it totally stopped working. Giving an internal error 500.

I have tried resetting all of the permissions (755 for dirs, 644 for files) and it still doesn't work. If I install Soholaunch fresh from Fantastico, it doesn't work either, however, if I set the dir permissions to 755 and the file permissions to 644, it kind of works ok (at least I can access the admin backend).

But this doesn't resolve why it happened 3 weeks ago. It just stopped, and we have been unable to deal with this since. Client is tearing their hair out (as you would expect)

If I try to change the file permissions through the file manager within the clients' cPanel, it gives the following error "[a fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive]", it also cannot be changed via FTP "bad descriptor".

So.....client is reluctant to have his account nuked and start over - any ideas??

Is Phpsuexec enabled on your server? Any errors in the log files? Did you make any changes to the server causing Soholaunch to stop?

It doesn't really, but the people here are so friendly I'm sure they don't mind helping.

Just a thought...Did you add any modsecurity rule that may have caused Soholaunch to stop working?

    Go on, have a guess
Actually, any fantastico related problems should be taken to their forums for support.
