After creating a cpanel account, some of them got already a high space used disk like 35mo or 778mo. I tried /scripts/fixquotas and check if they realy use that disk space but nothing anormal and the script don't work; the space used value still the same. Someone know how to fix that issue ?

    cpanel version: 9.1.0-RELEASE_85 and 9.1.0-RELEASE_93

You _just_ created the accounts? The space is used somewhere no doubt.

Do you have incremental backups turned on maybe?

I am getting the same problem.
One of my accounts show up with 834Mb but If I tar gzip everything, the archive ends up being 16Mb. I looked all over the /home/[user] directory and it is impossible that it be 834Mb.

There seems to be a bug with this cause my site went from 25Mb one day to 834MB. No FTP or anything of that kind!

    Can someone please help!

    Running: WHM 9.2.0 cPanel 9.2.0-R24 Fedora - WHM X v2.1.2

Look in your /tmp directory for any large files owned by that user and delete them.

This usually happens when you had terminated an account, but some files are still owned by that user id and that hasn't been removed. So when you create a new account, it takes over the previous user's userid, and thus started showing diskspace used.

    To fix this:

    find / -user username > /home/username.txt

Replace username with the actual username

    To read the file:

    pico /home/username.txt

Check through the listing and find any files that shouldn't be there.
