One of our customers are having trouble with spam assassin. When they try to configure it the settings are not being change. They enter values for blacklist_from, required hits, etc.. and hit save. However when they go back to the config settings, the settings are not saved. We are only having this problem on one domain so restalling spam assassin really is not an option. Has anyone else have this problem and how did you slove it.

    Thanks for your help

I have occassionally had some issues with Cpanel messing up the user_prefs file when making changes. Look at the file with FTP and see if any lines look run together or out of place for that client's user_prefs.

Check the permissions for the user_prefs file in /home/[username]/.spamassassin to ensure the user is able to write to the file.

    Code:
drwx------ user user 4096 Apr 14 18:27 .spamassassin
    -rw-r--r-- user user 1290 Apr 14 18:26 user_prefs

Yo probably need to check on the ownership and permission of user_prof file. If these are OK, then the best way around this is to edit user_prof using the integrated editor in File Manager.
