SPAM Filtering Add-on?

You guys have all probably been asked this question before ...

We're looking for a neat little add-on for SPAM filtering. Anything easy for the users to utilize besides SPAM Assassin? We have received complaints that to have that work right, there is so much tweaking to be done.

Anything else out there available? Any recommendations on reducing SPAM?

I see you have listed the following three

But, then give me a URL to your site to download MailScanner... But in your directions for mailScanner it says to disable calmav if we have it installed.

We do have it installed. Is there a way to run both? I see you recommend using clamav, but on your site it says we can't use it if we use MailScanner...

It's not ClamAV that is the problem, it is the cPanel provided clamavconnector. You can most certainly use ClamAV with MailScanner and I've provided an installation/integration guide on the same site:

What do you mean by "Anything easy for the users to utilize"? If you mean easy to add spam/notspam to the filter, then ASSP is pretty darn easy... just forward the mails to the appropriate email address (ie, [email protected], etc) and also [email protected] for the user to add other addresses to the whitelist. But it isn't really user configurable past that, unless you setup some php scripts or something to add some sort of interface.

I've looked at it - I've tried it - I preferred MailScanner. It's just hard to match MailScanner configuration options.

Right now I am using the eximscan, clamav, and spam assassin. We'll see how this goes. Still having some spam get through the system. May need to go to your MailScanner package.

Although, I seen your MailScanner package does consume a lot of memory. What is ideal for it?

It uses far less memory these days as it once did (through tuning). Servers with 512MB or more are usually fine, depending on current loads.

chirpy, How do we do to edit the emails that are spam and the ones that are not, using MailScanner?

Are you referring to SpamAssassin ham/spam learning? If so, then you'd need to use the sa-learn command from shell, unless you install MailWatch for MailScanner and you can do it from within there.
