Spam filters for email forwarders

I've got a client that was getting a lot of spam and the spam filter through cPanel worked very well with splitting this into a spam folder for their account.

However they've also got forwarders pointing to this account and it seems mail sent to a forwarder that was identified as spam was just deleted rather than being forwarded into the spam folder (or even the inbox)

The setting to auto delete spam is turned off so is there a way to get forwarders to work in the same way as main accounts and forward into the spam folder (as some are genuine, even though the spam level is set to 10)?

Otherwise the alternative is to have the spam filter disabled but this obviously causes a lot of manual deletions needed which isn't ideal.

Thanks

Hello! Can you check in WHM > Exim Configuration Manager > "Apache SpamAssassin Options" to see if either of the "Do not forward mail to external recipients" settings are enabled? If either of these settings are enabled, they could be responsible for preventing the spam from being forwarded. For reference:

https://docs.cpanel.net/whm/service-configuration/exim-configuration-manager-basic-editor/#apache-spamassassin-options

If the above settings are not responsible for deleting the forwarded spam email, I would recommend opening a support ticket so we can check the logs to determine why this is happening.
