I have been searching and searching to see if our server is being spammed. I have grepped through a bunch of the logs and such, but don't see any formmail stuff being sent out.
I just don't know all of the ways the spammers could be sending out mail. Can anyone list all of the different things to look for spam?
For example, I see a bunch of these in my mail statistics:
1 [email protected] R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp:
SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO::
host mailin-02.mx.aol.com [64.12.137.184]: 550 MAILBOX NOT FOUND
2 [email protected] R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp:
SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO::
host mailin-04.mx.aol.com [152.163.224.122]: 550 MAILBOX
NOT FOUND
2 [email protected] R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp:

host mailin-04.mx.aol.com [205.188.156.154]: 550 MAILBOX

1 [email protected] R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp:

host mailin-04.mx.aol.com [64.12.138.89]: 550 MAILBOX NOT FOUND
they just seem to fill up my mail statics with errors. I am wondering how I can track where this is actually comming from? It just always seems to be a random [email protected]....
