Earthlink and others are making big gains in spam protection with their whitelist approach to spam protection. I would like to see cpanel implement a whitelist/responder approach similar to what earthlink and other compaines are doing that we could offer to our customers.

It basically works like this: If you are not currently on a recipient's whitelist, you receive a bounce back to a page where you are required to request permission to email the end user and type in a special GD generated code to verify it is a real person reading the page.

Come on darkorb...we know you can do it.

I personally find Earthlink's approach ANNOYING! I do NOT want to see a solution like that but would like to see the current Spam filters & Spam Assassin updated with a little more spam fighting power.

Now on the other hand we implemented a software program that runs right in Outlook or Outlook Express. We love it so much we signed up to be a reseller for the company & of course we also promoted it to all of our clients. If anyone is interested in the product PM me.

While I understand you may find this annoying...and I do occassionally when I run billing and get them from customers. I am looking for features the CUSTOMERS are looking for. This is something that could very easily be implemented as an OPTION for customers to use.

Well I agree with you there. As long at it was OPTIONAL for us & the customers (we call them clients) then I have no problem with it.

Have to disagree on this one.

I would like to see DarkOrb fix all the bugs in all current releases -- including HTML & CSS -- and keep the Manuals uptodate. Although a Spam feature you describe may be available in the future, I don't think it is very high on the list of many of us WHM License Owners.

Besides, between what is available by customizing Exim plus free scripts like Active Spam Killer (or ASK for short), Tagged Message Delivery Agent (TMDA) -- both of which, are customizable whitelist/blacklist and the challenge/response type mentioned in this thread -- and other scripts using the SpamBayes approach, I'm sure you can find one that suits your needs.
