Will spamassassin process messages that are being forwarded to a different domain? ie there is no POP or IMAP account set up on this box and a user may not 'exist' for this email address.

    Go on, have a guess
IIRC, SpamAssassin will not be run on forwarded email as forwarders are processed before SA scanning. If you used a different scanning method (such as MailScanner) then it would.

The method chirpy mention works GREAT!

I would recommend if you wish to use this you see his link below his signature.

We used his service and our customers love the reduced spam and antivirus protection (especially on the forwarded emails)

The people at http://www.webumake.com/services/ did a wonderful job and were great to work with.
