apparently there was another wonderful update done to spamassassin, dated 10/22

    Attempting to enable Spam Assassin...

    From: "Spam Assassin"
    X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.0.1 (2004-10-22) on
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    X-Spam-Status: No, score=-1.2 required=5.0 tests=ALL_TRUSTED,MISSING_DATE,
    MISSING_SUBJECT autolearn=unavailable version=3.0.1
    X-Spam-Level:

Spam Assassin has been enabled on this account

    Spam Assassin is now: enabled

again, spamassassin now does NOT rewrite the subject header. Now, spam simply get's deleted if it scores as spam. Anybody have any solutions to this ongoing problem?

Maybe I start sending my angry client mail to cpanel support to get things done right.
But then again, it'll probably get's tagged as spam then.

I'm seriously not trying to be a smart-ass here, but that's sweet! How did you manage to do that? I used to delete if over a threshold using spamass-milter, and I miss this ability.

BTW, I too upgraded to 3.0.1 and have no issues (yet). Subject rewrites just fine.

I don't have the slighest. After ripping half of my hair out I finally saw the mess my 'upgrade' had made. It had changed the user_prefs file somehow so that the rewrite tag line was written 3 times.
After deleting 2 of these lines it all worked again.
    Go figure

I can only see that happening if there were multiple entries in the user_prefs file to begin with. Could you please find a "pre-updated" copy of the user_prefs file in a backup and confirm or disprove my suspiscion. This is the first complaint that I've heard of directly related to our update script, and I'd like to make sure that there's not a bug lurking somewhere. Perhaps, allowing multiple rewrite_header entries would be a bug in itself. I guess the older version of SA was more forgiving.

I too am having issues now with spam assisin not working.. no x-tags at all in my headers and, of course, no subject rewrite..

    we're on WHM 9.9.8 cPanel 9.9.8-C82
    RedHat Enterprise 3 i686

I've looked at some user_prefs and some are normal others have the the rewrite lines entered multiple times.. removing the lines has no effect any ideas?

    Spamassassin fix

    here you go Steve,
do this and most likely, hopefully, ( with cpanel you never know ) it will get fixed. At least until they upgrade something again.

    Reinstall SpamAssassin:

    perl -MCPAN -e shell

    cpan> force install Mail::SpamAssassin

    Update your system:

    /scripts/updatenow
    /scripts/exim4
    /scripts/upcp

When it happens, just restart spamassassin..works for now. Until the 3.0.2 is released.

    ben,
I had similar problem with Spamassassin.
I had clients complaining that they didn't receive some email.

So I did disable SpamAssassion and now everything is working fine..
    PLEASE fix that :)

even if I really have no clue about what is happening :P

I'm not sure if this is 100% correct, but I was having problems with spam assassin stopping all of a sudden and I would just restart exim and that seemed to work.

    service exim restart

If you're logged into your server as root via SSH:

    cpan

    force install Mail::SpamAssassin

    exit

Aric1 - Thanks heaps for that tip..

I just migrated customers over and SA was stopping mail from being delivered, this seems to have done the trick so far from what I can tell.. Legend!
