spamassassin does work on piped emails?

I am using a webmail client that requires email to be piped to a php script. Everything in that manner works fine...email is being received with no problems. I have noticed however that when emails are piped they are not scanned via spamassassin for spam before being sent.

I have RBL's in my Exim config and they work fine and are actively rejecting emails...but spamassassin doesn't scan anything.

Go on, have a guess
I'm not surprised. The way SpamAssassin works within Exim is something of a hack (it basically redelivers the email back through Exim). One way around it would be to move SpamAssassin out of Exim and use it through MailScanner. This would, however, mean that you couldn't use the inbuilt cPanel features of SA, they would be centralised in the MailScanner configuration (which actually make SA much more effective if you use a server-wide bayesian filter database).
