I have SpamAssassin running successfully on several accounts, but on one, it does not label any messages as *****SPAM*****. I have disabled it re-enabled it, checked the settings over and over and nothing works.

I asked for support from Burst but they couldn't help, either. Now it appears I can no longer post directly to Cpanel support.

    Any ideas?

    I'd look in

    /home/username/.spamassassin/user_prefs

    for lines like:

    rewrite_subject 0
    subject_tag *****SPAM*****

rewrite_subject should be set to 1 for rewriting to be eneabled. You could also look at a working user_prefs for another user and note any differences.

Thanks. Tried that. Can't discern any differences between a successful user prefs and the one that's not working. rewrite_subject is set to 1.

I think SpamAssassin doesn't work on the default email (userid@mydomain.com) but works fine on email accounts you've added.

The problem was with a PoP account, not the main user account. Actually, after much struggle a cpanel support tech (Dan) found some 'goofy' configruations in a vhosts file for that account. He emptied the file and SpamAssassin started working again. Thank you Dan!

I know this is a very old thread, but does anyone know how to get SpamAssassin to work on the default email account ???

    Thanks for your help,
