Hello,

I have a Cpanel version 68.0.36 and I have to set up SpamAssasin but I have some problems with it.

In WHM I have set Home-Service Configuration-Exim Configuration Manager-Apache SpamAssassin reject spam score thresholdReject 9 but I can´t see this value in /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf. Which is main configuration file for SpamAssassin?

In /var/log/exim_mainlog I see this message "SpamAssassin as cpaneleximscanner detected OUTGOING smtp message as spam (13.3)".
I can not send any spam message. I have a message in my webmail
SMTP error: (550) This message was classified as SPAM and may not be delivered.

I want to set up that spam message are not automatically rejected by server. Because, maybe one good message be announced as spam and can not be delivered.

Hello,

The setting you are referring to is configured as part of a rule in the Exim configuration file as opposed to the SpamAssassin configuration file.

You can browse to "WHM >> Exim Configuration Manager >> Basic Editor >> Apache SpamAssassin Options" and set the following option to "Off" if you want to disable scanning outgoing emails for SPAM:

Scan outgoing messages for spam and reject based on the Apache SpamAssassin™ internal spam_score setting

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you Michael for your response.

But, I don´t want to disable scanning outgoing emails for SPAM.

I want to scan mails for spam but no reject such mails marked as spam just send this mail in special folder maybe on server.

Hello @Elizabeta,

The options we provide to scan outgoing email for SPAM will automatically reject the messages if they meet the configured SPAM threshold. We don't support queuing the outgoing messages that meet the SPAM score, and we don't move the messages to a SPAM directory since it's outgoing email as opposed to incoming email. It's generally up to the receiving mail server to mark the message as SPAM once the message leaves the server.

Thank you.

The SpamAssasssin global configuration is located at /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf, however it's not where we store the outgoing SpamAssassin scanning options. For that, we setup a custom Exim ACL (the custom values are stored in /etc/exim.pl.local and /etc/exim.conf.localopts).

Thank you.
