The spam folder is just an folder/directory that can be accessed via IMAP and this all 3 supported webmail apps and desktop clients.

    Hi,
    I have cPanel Version 11.24.4-RELEASE
and I can't find anymore the spambox button as described in the documentation

    ...
    "SpamAssassin is now: ENABLED"

    3. If you want your Spam emails to be filtered into a separate folder, you can set the system to send all emails marked as Spam to a Spam Box. To set this up, click on the Go Back link and continue on to Step 4 below.
    4. You will see the following message in the "Spam Box" section of the page:

"Spam Box is currently (DISABLED or ENABLED)."
    ...

is there another way to manage the spambox and empty the spam messages folder?
    Thanks
    pierre

To which SpamBox button are you referring? The Enable/Disable button (displayed on the left) or the Clear Spam Box button (displayed on the right)?

There are several ways to view/clear your spam box including:

    • Using Webmail. Any of the webmail interfaces will let you do this.
    • Using an email client that supports IMAP. Any email client that supports IMAP (e.g. Outlook, mail.app) will let you view and delete messages from the spam folder.
    • Clicking the "Clear Spam Box" button on the Spam Assassin screen of the cPanel interface. However, I'm not sure if you can see this button, given your inquiry.
    • If you insist on only using POP3, create a new email account in your mail client for username email@address/spam where email@address is your full email address. The password is the same as your mail account for that email address. This will download all the spam box messages to your computer and they will no longer be available on the server (unless you tell your mail client to do otherwise). This mechanism only works for the spam folder and will not work for other folders on your account.

There are possibly other solutions, but they are likely to be less reliable.

If you were just looking to change the threshold at which mail is marked as spam (and thus placed in the spam box), please let me know and I can assist you with that.

    Hi,
I was referring to the "clear Spam box button", I remember using in the past and I can't see anymore and the "Enable spambox" button I don't see either.

I have 2 dedicated servers with cPanel and it's the same on both either on x or x3 interface.

    - using webmail select all msg in one page even set to 999 lines is a slow process
    - with IMAP on my account is easy but on the others not doable
    - I know that I can delete the files in the directory, but there is always a risk to manipulate files directly on the server

it's why this button was the easiest way ;-)
Any idea why I can't see it?

The quickest way for us to sort out this issue as to why you can't see the button would be to let our technical analysts take a look at your server. This will give you a precise answer for your server rather than me attempting to speculate from a distance.
