    Code:
    write(4, "spamd[5774]: partial write t"..., 115) = 115
    rt_sigaction(SIGPIPE, {SIG_IGN}, {0x401736d0, [], SA_RESTORER, 0x42028558}, 8) = 0
    write(18, "t 4465 t.pl\nt 4465 N:sk:unsub-N\n"..., 704) = -1 EDQUOT (Disk quota exceeded)
I hope the above is enough to prove about this going on in one of my servers.

If DISK quota is exceeded on a user, and still running spamd, if he recieved various e-mails, etc, etc, the load on the server will keep going high every time when he recieves an e-mail.

    IE:

    Code:
    5774 fresh44 10 0 17840 7232 1236 S 0.5 0.7 0:27 spamd
    13444 fresh44 9 0 17404 1704 968 S 0.3 0.1 1:35 spamd
      728 fresh44 10 0 17540 9688 1128 S 0.3 0.9 0:10 spamd
    11448 fresh44 9 0 17400 1696 968 S 0.1 0.1 3:30 spamd
    18364 fresh44 9 0 17452 4624 968 S 0.1 0.4 1:17 spamd
    18420 fresh44 10 0 17420 1996 968 S 0.1 0.1 1:18 spamd
    32535 fresh44 9 0 17440 4980 968 S 0.1 0.4 0:59 spamd
     7116 fresh44 9 0 17920 10M 1236 S 0.1 1.0 0:27 spamd
     7011 fresh44 9 0 17684 10M 1236 S 0.1 1.0 0:07 spamd
    10416 fresh44 9 0 17820 9452 1248 S 0.1 0.9 0:06 spamd
    10768 fresh44 10 0 17776 7156 1248 S 0.1 0.6 0:06 spamd
    12617 fresh44 9 0 17828 9124 1248 S 0.1 0.8 0:05 spamd
    20468 fresh44 9 0 18140 9088 1640 S 0.1 0.8 0:03 spamd
And around 50-70 of those more, after tracing the process, the above was the result on each PID, over and over.

    Enjoy Nick.

Ahhh.. thanks for posting this, i thought I was going mad!

I noticed the server load rise up quite high the other day and traced it back to an account using spamd. I disabled spam assassin for that account and the problem went away... but I just checked after reading your post that the account was in deed at the top of their disk space allowance.

    this is definitely a problem.

I just found that sometimes a SPAM email will go to a loop! May be that's the problem.

Also if you use rejection in case of over quota this will happen on Exim 4:

    * quota
