    Hello all,
    I have strange problem which was go on before months and now it is again here.
    The problem is that one of my users spamd process is hanging up long time lie 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours and more if I don't make kill on process or spamd daemon restart itself.
    The strange is that happening only with one user not for all. I also try with update on whm/cpanel version, because I upgrade to current tree. Now currently version is
    WHM 11.2.0 cPanel 11.8.0-C15921
    CENTOS Enterprise 4.5 i686 - WHM X v3.1.0
    But I think that is not problem from version on cpanel.
    Any ideas what can I do with this issue?

    Regards,

    This happened to me a lot of times. I also reduce the spamd message scan size to 80k and after that I didnt have this problem anymore.

    Thanks

    I was having this problem and a cpanel tech gave me a quick fix.

    ~~~~~ From Cpanel Support ~~~~~
    1) Edit /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf and uncomment the "lock_method=flock" line
    2) do a 'ps -aux |grep spamd' then remove any .lock files located in /home/user/.spamassassin/ for any users shown running spamd processes.
    3) Restart exim '/etc/init.d/exim restart'
    ~~~~~ End ~~~~~

    For step 2. I ran 'rm /home/*/.spamassassin/*.lock -f'. That might be a bit of overkill but it shouldnt hurt anything.
