i have a user that spamd seems to love, so much that it sometimes consumes 90% of a cpu, avg 50% most of the time.

i delete the user and it stops

i recreate the user it begins again

i delete again the spawning stops again

    recreated again w/o mail

    spawning starts again

The most common reason for that is when the user has SpamAssisin configured and that user (or the main account) is at it's quota. It will spawn spamd indefinitely as SpamAssin is trying to write files, but keeps getting denied because the quota has been exceeded.

The way we temporarily work around this is to simply log into the domain's cPanel as root and disable SpamAssassin. You may still need to kill all of the spamd processes one more time after disabling SpamAssassin for the customer.

user quota is big but this problem still exist, spamd eats up to 50% CPU time!

so quota is not the main problem

cleaning user .spam* then disabled spam re-enabled again

working fine... BUT only in a week back again spawning, the same user

i re-did again and looks like inside the .spamassasin directory it will create a file name bayes_toks if it reach 2-10 megs spamd will spawn

    any solutions?
    TIA
