    a spammer has been on one of our cpanel hosts, mostly using squirrel@www.xxxx.co.nz (webmail) so I have changed all the passwords for the domain xxxx.co.nz

    my guess is a that the customer has had an easy password

    but there are few log entrys as below exim_mainlog

    Code:
    2007-08-01 10:32:04 1IG0G4-0005fJ-HH <= [email]malcolmb@WOLSELEY.COM[/email] U=cpanel P=local S=2125 id=20070801103201.yt80r07jbcgo4cg8@www.xxxx.co.nz
    2007-08-01 10:32:25 1IG0GP-0005hc-6R <= [email]malcolmb@WOLSELEY.COM[/email] U=cpanel P=local S=2125 id=20070801103222.1edluzloruo00kg4@www.xxxx.co.nz

    There isn't a password for cpanel. There shouldn't be a way for cpanel to send email like that. What version of cpanel are you using?
