According to the folks at SquirrelMail, there is a spell check plugin available, called SquirrelSpell.

Has anyone tried to enable this?

The SquirrelSpell feature works pretty well if enabled, but isn't at all different from the basic spell checker that you see in firefox browser. So if you have the firefox browser spell checker on, then the need of this plugin the Squirrel mail box is dropped.

But the drawback is that you need to manually check the spell errors by hitting the Check Spelling button, if you miss that then there's no use of having the plugin installed.

Is this easily enabled? Will future cPanel updates to SquirrelMail overwrite any changes that I make to enable it?

Put another way, is there a cPanel-friendly way to enable spell check?

Good point on the Firefox thing, I'll ask the user to try that. :)
