    Dear Sirs,

I'm having problems in sending e-mail to hotmail and gmail, hot main just rejects emails from my server and in gmail they set messages as spam.

I read about and I think that my problem is that I don't have a SPF records in my DNS zone.

I would Like to know how I should proceed do set a SPF record... I'll have to create it in all accounts??

    Thank you very much!:)

Things may take a while to update as they may be showing cache. Give it a day or so.

    Why this error ?

    Hi,

we try with this 2 lines:

    PHP:

    SLD
    .comIN TXT "v=spf1 ip4:#.#.#.# a mx a:HOSTNAME.SLD.com mx:SLD.com include:SLD.com ~all"

    SLD.comIN TXT "v=spf1 a -all"

    After with THIS line ( 1 ):

    sld.tld. IN TXT "v=spf1 a mx ~all"

    And finally with:

    sld.tld. IN TXT "v=spf1 a mx ptr ~all"

    And problem no changed.

HOTMAIL NO ACCEPT MESSAGES from my Server

Are you sure it's not another reason?, my previous SPF record works for all my domains.

Also, hotmail has accepted messages from my server even without SPF.

I think you are just copy and pasting, you need to add the domain to which you're editing the zone file.

    Mejoramos.com. IN TXT "v=spf1 a mx ~all"

That's why I've never fully understood these threads. I've resisted SPF records on my server as it is not really a requirement or part of the standard. I've never had trouble sending to hotmail or gmail.

That is true. On the other hand, I have many clients with a lot of trouble mailing to hotmail. The main reason I find is their mailing lists contain many invalid emails to hotmail. This of course would look like an attack of sorts to hotmail since most of these bad addresses do not exist. I counted about 20,000 on one client that had to be cleaned up in a 100,000 user wide list.

Anyway, Hotmail graylists for about a week and lifts the denial. With a clean valid list, no one should have trouble.

Another client just decided to trash all accounts referenced to hotmail and implemented a better management system such as phplist to take care of things.

Perhaps this might help someone out. SPF doesnt hurt either.

You could first collect all archived mail logs and filter out hotmail addresses that had delivery issues for starters.

How to clean up your list? You can start by filtering your mail logs for non existing recipients.
