Is anyone familiar with installing Sphinx SQL search engine? I'm just a bit concerned since its not a Control Panel installed add-on. It's required for a new app that im having developed.

I also have users requesting this app - anybody who has any experience with it?

I think many people are going to want to use Sphinx search in the future, especially large vBulletin sites. Since the program integrates tightly with mySQL and runs a daemon that must be monitored, it would be ideal to have this be a supported component of CPANEL.

Suggest someone create a thread in the feature requests area and everyone else can chime in in support of the request.
