    Hello everyone. I am having the dreaded mysql 1044 error "user @ localhost has no permissions......." I was wondering what i need to check to ensure this is working properly. I have access to whm, but thus far i have been unable to find out what the issue is.

    the user created his own db, added the user he wants to access it, but when he goes to import his old db it gives that error..

    any thoughts?

    *Edit: well, you can disregard. Got the issue resolved. I had asked him to only back up the tables, but it had the header info telling it to create a db, etc. which was causing the error out. So, if you are importing a db from somewhere, make sure you remove the top part of the file where it says:

    -- phpMyAdmin SQL Dump
    -- version 2.11.8.1deb5+lenny1
    -- http://www.phpmyadmin.net
    --
    -- Host:
    -- Generation Time:
    -- Server version: 5.0.51
    -- PHP Version: 5

    SET SQL_MODE="NO_AUTO_VALUE_ON_ZERO";

    /*!40101 SET @OLD_CHARACTER_SET_CLIENT=@@CHARACTER_SET_CLIENT */;
    /*!40101 SET @OLD_CHARACTER_SET_RESULTS=@@CHARACTER_SET_RESULTS */;
    /*!40101 SET @OLD_COLLATION_CONNECTION=@@COLLATION_CONNECTION */;
    /*!40101 SET NAMES utf8 */;

    --
    -- Database: `phpbb3`
    --
    CREATE DATABASE `phpbb3` DEFAULT CHARACTER SET latin1 COLLATE latin1_swedish_ci;
    USE `phpbb3`;

    -- --------------------------------------------------------

    otherwise it will error out.
