    Hi there -

I am going to upgrade SQL from 5.0 to 5.1 (yes, I know - should have done this long ago)

I believe Tristan had previously provided a shell command for accomplishing this backup, or a suggested procedure for the backup.

I'm looking for the shell command to execute to backup all SQL databases.

Also, do I need to stop SQL before running a backup of all databases?

    Thanks.

    Mike

    Hello Mike,

Here is the link that you are probably looking. If its possible, then you should generate dumps with the service stopped.
