It won't start or anything after I upgraded it and I have no idea how to fix - the error from my forums:

    Database error in vBulletin :

mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)
    /home2/wef/public_html/forums/includes/class_core.php on line 265

    MySQL Error :
    Error Number :
    Date : Wednesday, September 21st 2005 @ 09:51:44 AM
    Script :
    Referrer :
    IP Address :
    Username :
    Classname : vb_database

My host say it is "beyond the scope of their support" therefore I'm well and truly stuck.

    Any ideas

    Go on, have a guess
It certainly appears that mysql is not running on the server. You'll need to login and check the message logs and the mysql error log and restart mysql and see if any errors are reported and if so fix them. If you don't know how, have a good search of the forums and mysql startup issues have been discussed at some length, otherwise you'll have to hire a server admin to look at the issue for you.
