    Hi,

    I've got a new instalation of cpanel (installed a couple of days ago). Squirrel sends mail with no problems (as does mac mail). Round Cube hangs when sending. I've done the 'update-roundcube --force' command which seemed happy enough but still no luck.

    Any ideas? Thanks,

    Richard

    If you are using csf , check csf configuration file for the entry

    SMTP_BLOCK = "1"
    SMTP_ALLOWLOCAL = "1"

    If the value is 0 change it to 1 and restart csf

    If that doesn't help , update cPanel ( /scripts/upcp --force ) to latest "STABLE" version.

    Mmm - still trouble.

    Hi,

    OK, I'm not exactly sure whether I'm using CSF - how do I find out? Sorry - I'm a real newbie at this.

    I did the cp update but it's still hanging.

    Thanks for the thought, though.

    ....

    OK - I've figured out CSF and no I don't have it installed. Would you recommend I install it or does cpanel provide any protection built in?

    Thanks.

    Definitely use CSF, as well as a number of other of their add-ons.
