hi, one of our clients sent us the following error, any idea if this has been fixed in the last builds ?

    we are on WHM 7.2.0
    Cpanel 7.2.1-S85

    RedHat 7.3

    thanx in advance

When I try to send a new message on Squirrel Mail with my language set to Japanese, I get the following error, which seems to be related to one of the PHP compilation options to enable multi-byte handling:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mb_detect_encoding() in /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/squirrelmail/src/compose.php on line 1335

Do you have mbstring enabled in php? Also, I have found that squirrelmail will not process Japanese messages properly unless Japanese is the default for the entire installation.

Is it possible to compile php used in control panel to support mb_* functions?

I doubt it, but try asking in the skins forum. There are some people there who have lots of experience tweaking the php used in cpanel.
