SSH Command

    Why will this not delete eveything in the msglog dir?

    rm -fr /var/spool/exim.in/msglog/*/

    Correct. You can however drop the trailing slash.

    That command does not work even if I drop trailing /

    I tried this rm -fr /var/spool/exim.in/msglog/

    but it deleted the dir msglog, I recreated the msglog dir but it shows 0 for owner and group should be 47 owner and group 12 how to change that back?

    You should have left the asterisk. To change the GID & UID, simply use the chown command.

    thx But back to first question that line still does not delete files in the msglog dir

    chown mailnull.mail /var/spool/exim.in/msglog/

    rm -f /var/spool/exim.in/msglog/*

    that will delete all files in that dir.
