SSH Disconnections (non-standard port)

    A couple of years ago I changed my SSH port for security reasons and everything was fine for ages, but about a month ago my connections started dropping, I couldn't stay connected for more than a couple of minutes - I'm assuming it's related to a Cpanel update.

    Switching back to port 22 cured the problem but I would ideally like to change back to a non-standard port. Has anybody else experienced this problem, or know of a solution other than downgrading Cpanel?

    It's unlikely to have anything whatsoever to do with cPanel since cPanel doesn't touch the openSSH configuration.

    If it works OK on port 22 and not on another one it would suggest a firewall problem.
