Is it possibly to "fool" SSL and make your own CA cert for use on your own servers? We're using self-signed certificates atm but would like to remove the warnings
You can install the certificate on the local computer and that will take away the warnings. As for trying to "fool" it to think you are secure, you won't do it. The SSL process checks the machine for its certificate to be valid from a real source.
The self generated certs are just as real as the ones you have to pay for. The difference is YOU haven't paid microsoft for the privelage of NOT putting up a warning box. Because that Warning box kills sales. So the question really is.... Is there any way to stop Microsoft from calling me a Crook?
