    Hi
I recently purchased rapid ssl cert. from geotrust.
When i type hostname certificate works fine but when i type server ip address it doesn't. Also https://hostname.com:2087 doesn't work.

in WHM > SSL > Create a SSL cert. window i typed hostname for certificate does this cause error?

What should i do for cert. cover for https://my_ser_ip_address

    Regards

    Hello :)

SSL certificates are are only intended for the hostname that they are installed for. While the IP address the certificate was installed on should load with SSL, it will likely display a browser warning noting the certificate was purchased for another hostname.

In order to install the certificate for cPanel/WHM, you will need to use the following option within Web Host Manager:

"WHM >> Service Configuration >> Manage Service SSL Certificates"

You can also ensure that all SSL requests to cPanel/WHM/Webmail are directed to the SSL Certificate name. In "WHM >> Server Configuration >> Tweak Settings", under the "Redirection" tab, change "SSL redirect destination" to:

    "SSL Certificate Name"

    Thank you.
