Hi, I have a dedicated server with like 3 accounts on the same IP (different backup schedules...). No SSLs installed today. Now one add-on domain needs https, how do I go about installing one on the only dedicated ip? Is it the normal procedure though cpanel ssl manager or do I need to go through whm? How do cpanel know not to use SNI?

    Hello :)

SNI should work by default if you are using a supported OS (CentOS/RHEL 6.x). However, if you prefer to assign a dedicated IP address to your addon domain, then the following document explains how to do it:

How to Assign Dedicated IP Addresses to Subdomains

    Thank you.

Any difference if I create a new account and place it as main domain?

There's no difference to how the SSL certificate will work if you install it on the primary domain name associated with the account compared to an addon domain name.

    Thank you.

Looked at the file for the addon test.example.com, and it already has the real ip assigned?

Same with nameserver record: "Add the Subdomains’ Nameserver Records . The next step is to add the subdomains’ IP addresses to the nameserver records.". Addon domains are already pointed to the real dedicated ip?

Right, the steps listed in the document I provided are intended for users that want to use a different IP address for their addon/subdomains compared to the primary IP address associated with the account. If you want them all to use the same IP address, then no custom changes are required.

    Thank you.
