If I want to have SSL secured mail server for example mail.mydomain.com , do I need to have SSL installed for my domain or this server needs server wide SSL for this ?
I don't need to have hostname as secured mailserver, I need specific domain to have secured mail server. So which SSL certificate do I need, the one installed for specific domain or server wide certificate which covers cpanel/WHM access too ?

Hello,

If you install SSL on your server hostname you can use that for the cpanel/WHM/webmail and your mail client SSL connection. If you want to use SSL connection through your mail client you will have to use your server hostname instead of your mail.domainname in your mail client setting

Please check : Manage Service SSL Certificates

Hello :)

If you are attempting to install the certificate for a specific service (e.g. cPanel/WHM, Exim), you must install the certificate via:

"WHM Home » Service Configuration » Manage Service SSL Certificates"

It's not currently possible to install a service certificate on a per-domain basis, however there is an active feature request for this at:

SSL Certificate Per-Domain on All Services

Thank you.
