Hello everyone, I have a couple of clients on my server with SSL certs. One day they work the next they don't. They reinstall the cert and then it works again. But the next day or a couple of hours later it stops. Now you cant even instal the certs, when I restart apache the Https doesnt work for their domains. I spoke to my admin, he was saying that this is a cpanel bug and has multiple tickets open to them. Has anyone else seen this, or do you have any suggestions on things I can try or check? I am just the sales person trying to keep our clients so instructions on things to do will have to be detailed.

I thank everyone for their help and support with this.

    Sincerely,

    Chris

ok here is an update, I can reinstall the certs, but they still are not working while trying to connect to the https. Also the https for cpanel and WHM both are working fine.

it was down a minute ago but now on a refresh it came up again.

have you tried uninstalling the certificate and then reinstalling it in WHM?
and when you do that did you get any error messages?

does your certificate require the CA bundle or is it a Verisign Certificate?

sorry this is a tough one the more info you provide the easier it will be to help you.

It worked previously witht he same cert. I had to reinstall it once before and it worked for a few days. Now reinstalling the cert. does not work. It installs successfully though.

    Aaahhhhh....

I'm glad I see I'm not the only one with this problem. I just transfered two certs over to a new server and am having problems as well. Here's what I posted in another thread before I saw this.

Well now neither site will show any SSL pages. I just get the generic page not displayed error. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the cert on the less busy of the two sites. It did not seem to make a difference.

I was able to see one from work earlier today, but when I got home... nothing. I called a friend across the state to see if it was something with my firewall/router at home... but they were not able to get to any SSL pages either. So it does appear to be server related.

The newer server is running RHE 3, with WHM 9.4.0 cPanel 9.4.1-R64
The server the certs came from is RedHat 7.2, with WHM 9.4.0 cPanel 9.4.1-C135

The "old" server does not seem to have a problem. The SSL sites are running fine.

Anyone created a support ticket yet?

    Hi Guys!

Try restarting your apache using "/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd startssl". Or edit the "httpd" script to do this everytime.

I having a same problem and I think it is an Ip resolution problem because in my case it is not running through domain name but instead it is running through IP Address.

If someone know how to resolve the Domain name for that IP then it may be the solution for this problem

I just started getting this problem yesterday. IP works, but domain name doesn't for https URLs. Very strange. Does anyone know what this might be and how to resolve the issue? Thanks!

This worked for me, looks like when apache is restarting it's restarting without ssl, can you give more details on how to edit the httpd script to do this automatically?
