Anyone else experience issues installing SSL when the www is added to the setup?

I have found that if you add the www to the key, csr and consequently generate the certificate with that csr when you go to CPanel to install the certificate it wont work.
You can select the domain from the drop-down menu and paste the CRT into the correct box and the Key and Cabundle does not auto populate.

This does not happen if you do not use the www.

Any ideas how to get around this and/or how to fix it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Remove the instances of the certificates from the server from /etc/ssl/ and try a fresh install.

Please check you have generated ssl certificate for the domain with www or without www. Certificate belong to domain domain.com will not work for www.domain.com. Please use whm >> ssl >> install ssl certificates feature to install ssl certificate. Certificate generated from cpanel will create files under directory
    /home/cpanelusername/ssl/certs and
    /home/cpanelusername/ssl/private

When you install ssl through whm it will properly add files in directory /etc/ssl/

Yes, I understand that you can install the certificate via WHM just fine. The issue is that customers can not do it themselves via CPanel which is a problem.

    I've just had a similar issue on a cPanel 11.24.5-R37946 - WHM 11.24.2 - X 3.9 server (auto updates)
I pasted in a new certificate (crt) file into the Upload a new certificate box. On submitting the form this appeared to work, and the system detected that this was an update of the already installed certificate. On the frontend/x3/ssl/crts.html page the expiry date was showing correctly, i.e. a year from now.
However, when I visited the ssl URL the date hadn't changed.
I restart http and cpanel and this didn't help.
I had to copy the /home/username/ssl/certs/domain.crt file to /etc/ssl/domain.crt and restart httpd, and now my browser is showing the correct date.

Before trying this copying I tried removing the installed certificate, and cpanel reported that it had removed the certificate, but it hadn't, it was still there...

So something isn't working right I think.
