I installed an SSL cert on a domain as secure.domain.com and the subdomain not existing so that the root domain can be accessed as https://secure.domain.com.

However - if I do this I get redirected into the sub domain that does not have any files in it. I did the same thing on another domain and there the whole thing works that I can access the root domain via https. Both domains look the same in DNS. No htaccess files in place. Same provider for the SSL cert.

The subdomain did not exist before the SSL cert was created in both cases. I used WHM in both cases to create the cert request and to install it.

I do not why the first domain cannot be accessed without being redirected into the subdomain. Am I missing a step?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Chris
