Hello I have a few questions regarding installation of SSL.

The domain for the cpanel account I want to use ssl for is domain.com but I have rewrites to www.domain.com in my .htaccess file.

From what I've read I should get a certificate for www.domain.com then, is this correct?

Should I generate the signing request in WHM or cpanel? What is the difference?

The first attempt of installing ssl was a certificate for domain.com, not www.domain.com and that resulted in a 500 error when trying to visit https://.
Could this have been because of the wrong domain choice in the cert?

Also during that attempt both firefox and safari redirected to https automatically which is unwanted and I can't find the cause of that behaviour in any .htaccess rules, any idea of what could cause such an effect?

Did some searching on the forum and found out that I should install the certificate under user nobody and move and edit the SSL file to the user I want it to.

Is this approach correct? Could this have been why I received a 500 error last time?
