    1. If we have an SSL cert installed on a website, are we required to have a dedicated IP address? Why?
    2. If we install ssl on a website, how to make http://domain.com/ redirected to https://domain.com/ automatically?
    Many thanks in advance!

Yes, because even the domain name you are accessing is encrypted when transmitting over an ssl, so you have to have a dedicated IP to make the connection between the browser and the server.
