I have a user who wan'ts an SSL certificate on one of their Addon Domains as well as their primary domain.

Whilst I understand it's not possible to do this in the cpanel/whm interface itself Am I likely to run into many problems if I was to manually edit the required configuration/vhost files to enable this?

Presumably I can distill the modified config to stop Cpanel/WHM overwriting it during an update?

It's not directly possible from WHM inteface. But you can manaully edit then cpanel config files and assign dedicated IP for the addon domain and then install the SSL

    Edit the file
    Code:
    /var/cpanel/userdata/username/addon-domain.com
and change the IP to a dedicated IP. Also edit the DNS entires for the addon domain and set the New IP there.

Now rebuild the apache configuration files
    Code:
    /scripts/rebuildhttpdconf
Now you can directly install the SSL from WHM

Ah Thanks, It looks like it might be easier than I first thought then, I was expecting to have to manually edit the apache config as well as generating the CSR.etc from the command line.

+1. I wish there was a way to do this with WHM.

Seems like a pretty basic feature to have added.
