    Can anyone provide guidance as to the best method to install an ssl cert for an addon domain's subdomain?

    example.

    addon domain is addon.com

    ssl domain is secure.addon.com

    *edit*

    Here's how it looks in the httpd.conf and the steps I used to add it. *currently it's not working*

    <IfDefine SSL>
    <VirtualHost dedicatedIP:443>
    ServerAdmin webmaster@secure.addon.com
    DocumentRoot /home/username/public_html/addondir
    ServerName secure.addon.com
    CustomLog /usr/local/apache/domlogs/secure.addon.com-ssl_log "%t %{version}c %{cipher}c %{clientcert}c"
    User username
    Group username
    <IfModule mod_userdir.c>
    Userdir disabled
    Userdir enabled username
    </IfModule>
    <IfModule mod_php4.c>
    php_admin_value open_basedir "/home/username/:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp"
    </IfModule>
    SSLEnable
    SSLCertificateFile /usr/share/ssl/certs/secure.addon.com.crt
    SSLCertificateKeyFile /usr/share/ssl/private/secure.addon.com.key
    SSLCACertificateFile /usr/share/ssl/certs/secure.addon.com.cabundle
    SSLLogFile /var/log/secure.addon.com
    UserDir public_html
    ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /home/username/public_html/addondir/cgi-bin/
    SetEnvIf User-Agent ".*MSIE.*" nokeepalive ssl-unclean-shutdown
    </VirtualHost>
    </IfDefine>

    The steps I used to make this happen were:
    1) create the subdomain in cPanel for the addon domain...
    2) install the SSL cert
    3) edit the httpd.conf so that the secure.addon.com points to the addondir
    4) cpanel didn't list the DNS zone, so I added it via cPanel for secure.addon.com on the IP assigned to the account.

    Nevermind - just needed time to update. :)

    This is working fine if anyone else can benefit from it. Also - I put the entire account on the dedicated IP. Unless anyone know why that might be a bad idea?...

    Can I get some more info on what you did to get this to work?

    under domain.com I had a secure subdomain and directory. I deleted the subdomain but the directory remained. This is perfect.

    I create a new domain in WHM called secure.domain.com and gave it the new IP address.

    How does that secure.domain.com know to get back to that subdirectory under the main domain? It is a completely different account.
