I first tried installing our SSL certificate through WHM but we could not get it to work. We then installed right from the root and still not able to get it to work. We have all the files there and complete but the SSL tech support company said something about port binding and that the domain must be bound to the dedicated IP. Can that be done from WHM. He also mentioned to make sure port 443 is enabled and I don't see anything in WHM for that either I don't think. Any help would be appreciated greatly, I have been researching this for over a week now and even the SSL company we got it from will not help with any of this.

    1. Change IP of site to dedicated IP (in WHM)
    2. Install SSL Cert through WHM

Very simple two step process ;)

    more info

Ok, I have the main IP address that the server came with and two additional IPs.......

The main one and an additional one I have setup for the nameservers as ns1 and ns2 etc...

Can I use either of those IP's or does it have to be one that does not have NS records associated with it? Because when I changed the domain to the dedicated IP, nothing was accessable anymore, and domain addresses were bringing up other sites I have in WHM, so I thought that was incorrect.

Any help is greatly appreciated or a point in the right direction, thanks.

Sorry for newbie question but... does every SSL certificate require a separate, dedicated IP address? Yikes.

Yes. Each SSL cert needs a dedicated IP.

Yes but how do you assign a dedicated ip I have assigned a free ip to
the domain, does that mean its a dedicated ip.

If you checked the Ip box under the domain and password, then the IP you selected would be it's dedicated IP. If you didn't check that box, the IP you selected is ignored.

Well I upgraded the package to one with that box checked since the account is
    open already.

Im taking it that cpanel doesnt make a certificate just a
    request and a key.

And you have to buy the ssl from someone.

I thought it was like plesk and would generate a self certificate.
    Plesk makes this super easy.

And cpanel I cant figure this out. I have a static Ip did the request
and then I clicked on add the cert and added it by clicking fetch
it grabbed all thei info and everything and worked.
It even made a ssl dir in the ftp area.

But will not open in https://

I think it has something to do with the first main account I added.
It still has hosting and everything but is not listed in the accounts.

Its listed in the reseller center but not in the accounts. It cant be terminated.
    Or anything but its there.

It also has a problem with accounts crossing home dir. Youll add accounts and they
all goto that main dir home the one that doesnt show in the accounts list.
