    Hi,

The official release date for cPanel v11 STABLE is 14 Aug .... why is that?

Could it not be somewhere around the end or the week or on a weekend?

What if there are tons of issues when upgrading?

..... man this is scarry !!!

Mid-week seems to add up to me. Gives time for people to get ready, install, and fix what maybe needed. It also gives time for some people to turn OFF auto update (which should be off in my opinion). If you've got auto update OFF, you can add it one at a time.

would it make you fell better if I say I am still using cpanel 10 and not upgraded yet? I am waiting for 11 r2 to be stabilize by the end of this month. If no big problems, I will upgrade next month. Or else I will wait.

What's the point of rushing to upgrade? The server is running fine with cpanel 10. I never could understand the mentality of those admins who upgrade for the sake of upgrading.

i am running EDGE in production for 9 months now. and should be VERY easy to fix things with minimum of knowledge.

benefits? customers had access to the x3 theme WAAAAY before anyone on cp 10

mysql 5.0.45 - up and running.

apache2 - still waiting till i will do that upgrade.

other than that things are soo smooth.

whaooooo man .... u got some nerves ........ lol

Even cpanel advise against using EDGE in a production environment.

We got a ton of servers to look after so we cant afford anything other than STABLE.

This is usually the best time to release, most companies don't have a full support team on weekends.

Very true. However I do hope everyone made sure they are "Cpanel 11 Ready" before midnight tonight (or whenever it goes stable). Once Cpanel 10 is gone they wont be able to do anything without upgrading to 11 on the spot.

no problem for me as I always had my update set to manual.

I think most of the admins here does that (or am I wrong). I prefer to know what is updated before I update so that when there are problems, I know what to do. Still, cpanel has been okay so far with their upgrade with only minor issues. Thank god my days of ensim is over. Wonder if ensim users still having upgrade nightmares.

We'll probably end up doing STABLE on Wed as we've had a lot of power problems in houston today and the temps are supposed to be just as high tomorrow.
