Has anyone seen email issues from stable 66 last night- more specifically noone can receive email on the whole server? I updated to S69 and then it was ok. Was this an error in S66?

I signed up for stable only thinking that they would be stable releases only but I guess not ..

    stable 66

It appears what happened is with stable 66 on my servers that mail was written to ..

    /home/username/mail/username/

    and not written to

    /home/username/mail/domain.com/username/

I can see all the email that was lost in space in the first directory

After upgrading to S69 there have been some changes in the exim.conf file, so there were issues actually.

    Anyway JDT shouldn't
    /home/username/mail/username/inbox
    and
    /home/username/mail/domain.com/username/inbox
    be hardlinked?

    Hmm

I would like clarification but as far as I can tell there is no use for this directory..

    /home/username/mail/username/

when it actually uses only (or is supposed to)

    /home/username/mail/domain.com/username/

I have removed the first on some of my own sites just to test and there have been no email issues. Also these are not hard linked as far as I can tell - because pre the &new way& of doing exim by putting stuff in a domain all these existed one level back and were never cleaned up by the script.

so cpanel people is it ok to go in and clean up all these directories that are not under the domain?

    Eh?

Hard-links? I don't see anything pointing anywhere... only 'inbox'. I have to system-link them manually for anything to work via NeoMail 90% of the time.
