what's the standard login for cpanel after an install?
or is this located in a file?

i use cpanel on fedora core2.

Hi

You can login to your cpanel by your domain name or by the server ip

For example : By domain name
www.yourdomainname.com/cpanel
www.yourdomainname.com:2082 (cpanel port)

By server Ip
http://serverip/cpanel
http://serverip:2082

Try this and in login window enter your username and password
