Standard setting for indexing

    Hi,

    is it possible to change the directorylistening standard-setting from list files to off (you have to access)

    If you're replying to the setting which will lockout the indexing of your account files should an index.html not be present (Prevents anyone from viewing your directory which is smart) then here is an easy fix:

    Place the .htaccess in /home and in /usr/local/apache/htdocs with the Options -indexes, then you'll be good to go.

    To do a sitewide policy change edit your access.conf file:

    pico -w /usr/local/apache/conf/access.conf

    look for "Options Indexes"
    change it to "Options -Indexes"

    exit saving and restart apache by doing:

    service httpd restart
