I need to run the following command at startup to ensure my Java chat server (no, it's not IRC or anything like that) starts up in the event of a reboot:

    nohup java -jar bribble-1.5.34.jar &

From what I've read, I need to create an INIT start/stop script for it but I'm not really sure how to do that. I've looked for tutorials and examples but all the ones I have found seem to be for much more complicated things.

Can anybody help me out? I'm running Red Hat Linux by the way.

    Thanks

paste ur line in /etc/rc.local ...it should work...paste it with full path name of command...i.e.

    /path/to/nohup .....

Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...
