I received an alert email from one of my servers today:

Well, the server CPU is not maxed out and the load averages listed are not very high.

So, any idea why I am suddenly getting these alerts? The site this alert is referring to sees about 2,000 unique visitors a day. The server is 2.4 Ghz Celeron with 1.5 GB RAM. I am always checking the load and it is going up and down between 0.50 and maybe 2 - but never really staying high for a long time.

It is very likely that the load is high BECAUSE of the stats running. Make sure stats run at an off-peak time. You also ned to set the "The load average above the number of cpus at which logs file processing should be suspended (default 0):" in Stats and Logs section to a higher number.

Are those settings in WHM somewhere?

    Thanks.

Never mind. I never noticed this in WHM. I see it. Thanks for pointing it out. I disabled webalizer and only use AWStats now. That's all I need anyway.
