    Hey Guys,

So I periodically recieve those nasty "[statscheck] Stats/Server Overload on server.domain.com" emails - and I'm trying to find a better solution to the issue than just sayind "run anyway".

From your experience, is it the stats runner itself that is causing the high load, or is it just crapping out because something else happens to be causing a high load at the time the stats runner is running?

I ask as I've noticed a couple of interesting behaviours: The first is that there seems to be a few accounts that cause the problem to occur more often than others. The second is that more often then not - brand new accounts, with empty access logs also cause the error.

So I'm wondering if there is any way to look at the algorithm used for the stats runner to see if we can't find a way to make it more reliable and less load intensive.

    Cheers,

    Joseph
